As a member of the Rural Lifestyle Team, I appreciate the trust placed by both buyers and sellers in us when conducting real estate transactions. Providing honest, reliable and experienced assessments of your proposed purchase or sale is paramount to our success and on-going business opportunities in the fast growing Selwyn District.

Having lived on farms and lifestyle blocks for 33 years, I know only too well why so many seek the rural life. Being able to leave the hustle and bustle of the city with its traffic issues and return home to the peace and quiet of the country is indeed a blessing. Relaxing out on the deck, listening to the birds – not the neighbours, watching the kids play on the expansive lawn – not the street. What more could you wish for?

Raising a family on a lifestyle block in West Melton has meant we could provide our three boys with a fantastic learning environment. Raising and caring for livestock, building and fencing, riding motorbikes, planting trees and growing vegetables has given them a broad knowledge of all things rural. This lifestyle, coupled with the schooling in West Melton and Christchurch at our door step, really brings meaning to the phrase ‘having the best of both worlds’.

Growth in the Selwyn District since the 2010/11 earthquakes has highlighted many of the attributes and advantages of rural life. Our own West Melton village has seen a huge change over the last 10 years with 4 subdivisions adding around 800 sections to the original 42. The Jewel in the Crown for the current and future wider West Melton community will be the new Community and Recreation Centre due to commence in June of this year.
